Sam's Club

Tonight we also went to Sam's Club, which we recently joined. Our goal was to price items we commonly buy so we can compare the prices to Target. You sure can buy a lot of stuff at Sam's. And by "a lot," I mean both lots of different items and LOTS of one item. You've never seen a bigger can of peanut butter. For those of you considering joining, here is a copy of our notes from this evening. I apologize if they are hard to read off the scanned copy. We are going to put them into a spreadsheet, include prices from other stores, program the spreadsheet to figure the price per unit and then highlight which store is the best option for each item. Most likely, this will be Sam's. We'll also have to do a cost-benefit analysis of whether it is worth it to buy a 36 gallon bucket of pickles when we can barely finish one jar in 6 months. Pickled ginger, on the other hand, may be well worth it.
