babies and blood pressure

We're back on the blood pressure roller coaster. Weeee!! (just kidding) Last Tuesday, the 20th, Lindsay had a doctor's appointment. Her blood pressure was, which hasn't happened since back in December when we had the episode with high blood pressure that just seemed to go away. So the doctor sent us to labor and delivery to be monitored and have lab work done. After about two hours, they sent us home and told Lindsay to be on "modified activity," meaning she needed to take it easy. So, she only went to work for a few hours that Wed. and Thur. Well, Thursday evening her feet became REALLY swollen. And she had been taking her bp on our home monitor, and it was high. So, after a medical consultation with her mom, she called her doctor's office. The on-call doctor sent us into the hospital again to be monitored. Menorah's Labor and Delivery is starting to be our second home. Well, the monitored her for about an hour and a half, and her bp went back down. This time they sent us home and told Lindsay to stay on strict bed rest.

After a weekend of laying on her side and about to go crazy, we had another appointment today (Monday). As we expected, her bp was high again; so, back to labor and delivery to be monitored again and have labs done. Her bp went down and the labs came back fine, so they sent us home again and continued to order for strict bed rest. The other fun thing is that Andy seems to be a pretty big baby. It's to the point where the doctor doesn't tell us what he's measuring - we think it's because she's afraid she'll freak Lindsay out. So, they're going to do an ultrasound on Thursday morning to check out how big he really is. Then, depending on the ultrasound, we're (well, Lindsay) is scheduled to be induced next week. It's exciting to have a day now that we know he'll be here by. But, while Lindsay is ok with being induced, she would obviously really prefer to go into labor naturally. So, please be praying for her to go into labor this week.

We'll post an update after the ultrasound! (although I can't guarantee how prompt I'll be)
